Urban style bag

Buongiorno e buon inizio settimana! Dopo aver lavorato ad alcuni ordini, sono di nuovo qui per mostrarvi il lavoro che ho fatto due giorni fa per me: una borsa dall'aria retro, compatta ma capiente, deliziosamente ricca di dettagli e che si presta ad essere realizzata in mille versioni differenti.

Vagando su pinterest, sono incappata in questo modello, la Katie Boston Bag di Ithinksew.

Beh, è una forma che mi piace da matti: così non ho resistito e l'ho subito acquistato.

Avevo già preso questa stoffa/tapezzeria che mi ricorda la pop art, piena di etichette multicolor e volevo fare una borsa sportiva da usare con i jeans.

Quindi questo modello è risultato perfetto.

Non è una borsa tanto semplice da fare, è adatta ad un livello intermedio/avanzato, ed è anche lunghetta. 

Ci ho messo 5 ore, di cui 1 solo per rifinirne l'interno a mano.

Però ne è valsa la pena.

Mi piace da morire, la trovo così urban style, così metropolitana, eppure ingentilita da questa forma a fagiolo che le conferisce un look vintage.

I made a few orders and now I'm ready to show you a bag I made for me a few days ago.

I literally fell in love with this pattern, the Katie Boston Bag from Ithinksew.

I found it by chanche on Pinterest and immediately blought the pdf pattern.

I think it's soo nice, with its retro and vintage style shape.

Yet, perfect for every kind of fabric.

My choice was for a pop art fabric, an urban, modern one.

It's a bit long to make ( it took 5 hours to me, 1 only to refine the lining by adding the binding by hand), but I think it really deserves the efforts.

I love it.

Ho aggiunto una tracolla per comodità, per il resto mi sono attenuta al modello.

L'interno è con stoffa rossa a contrasto, che ho scelto perchè richiamava il rosso dell'esterno.

Il resto è blu, perchè trovo fosse l'accostamento migliore con questa stoffa.. anche se ho solo giubbini neri per la mezza stagione...mah!!!

I added a shoulder strap and used a red lining.

I'm a bit puzzled by the blue handles, because I have only black jackets for autumn..but it was perfect with this fabric!

Mi è piaciuta particolarmente la tascona con elastico, che mi ha ricordato l'interno dei beauty case e delle valigie di una volta.

I really like the elastic pocket; it reminds me of  old suitcases.

La cosa più bella di questo modello, secondo me, è che è super versatile. Si presta a diventare iper romantico, se realizzato con una stoffa a fiori, oppure molto vintage con una stoffa a pois o una fantasia geometrica anni '70. Magari facendo i manici di stoffa.

Può essere super sportiva se realizzata in jeans, più invernale se realizzata in tweed o velluto..

insomma, secondo me le versioni sono infinite.

Se siete amanti del cucito, non posso che consigliarvela.

Ma se siete interessate ad avere la vostra Katie Boston Bag, realizzata da me, contattatemi via mail senza impegno.

L'unico neo è il tempo per realizzarla, che implica un costo di vendita un po' più elevato del solito.

Ho ancora della stoffa così per poterne realizzare un'altra, ma ci sono comunque mille possibilità :-)

The nicest thing with this pattern is that it is perfect with every kind of fabric: a floral one for a romantic effect, a polka dot one for a more retro style, a 70s style one, or a tweed or velvet one for a winter model.

Magari vi chiederete come mai ho osato con uno stile così multicolor e urbano: la verità è che ho anche un lato metropolitano.. e poi, l'ho realizzata in vista di un viaggio fantastico che abbiamo in programma a breve..
